MUSEUM ARCHIVES & EXHIBITS

The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum's largest and most dynamic artifacts are in the Museum Hangar, but other pieces of Canada's heritage are also housed in the Museum.

The Archives and Library at the Museum support the Museum's mandate. It is our mandate to acquire, document, preserve and maintain a complete collection of aircraft that were flown by Canadians and the Canadian military from the beginning of World War II to the present. Our role is to preserve the artifacts, books, periodicals and manuals relating to the mandate.

More unique pieces of our heritage are preserved in the Museum's archive. Letters from the frontlines to loved ones, pilot log books detailing missions, aircraft parts, medals, uniforms, films and videos. All these things are part of our past and are catalogued by dedicated volunteers at the CWHM.

Our archive area also boasts one of the most comprehensive photo collections of Canadian aviation history in the country. We have over 3000 photographs which have been donated by people like yourself, who share our enthusiasm for the past.

The Museum is constantly striving to be the leading resource for Canadian Military Aviation artifacts. We often rely on the on-going donations of people like yourself who share the same enthusiasm for history as we do.

If you have an item that you may wish to donate, please contact our Curator, Erin Napier at erin@warplane.com
